An electrical fire caused severe damage to a vacant house on Borden Road Tuesday night and left one firefighter with a minor injury. Local fire departments extinguished the blaze within 30 minutes.

The forum was hosted by the Lexington-Rockbridge Chamber of Commerce and focused on housing, economic development and other policy topics. One candidate said “a woman’s place is in the home.”
Republican Ben Cline is expected to win Virginia’s 6th district house race over Democrat Jennifer Lewis. Both candidates are campaigning on contentious issues, such as a lagging economy and concern over abortion rights.
