Student delegates representing all 50 states and U.S. territories will crowd into the Duchossois Tennis Center on the Washington and Lee University campus Friday and Saturday with two main goals in mind: to select the presidential nominee for the Republican Party and to simulate a national political convention down to every detail: balloons, bands and lots of big-name speakers.

Every four years since 1908, students have assembled to predict the nominee for the political party not in the White House with 74% accuracy, including 100% for the last several Republican conventions. The 2016 convention correctly predicted in February that Donald Trump would win the nomination at a time when that was not a certainty. Trump is on the ballot again this year.
