Teenagers were spared on Tuesday when Virginia lawmakers ditched a bill that would have reduced the minimum wage for young people from $12 to $9 an hour. The Republican–sponsored bill had sparked criticism from high school students and small business owners across the state. Part–time jobs mean more than just quick cash for many teenagers, especially in Rockbridge County.
