The city of Lexington has increased the water bill, yet again.

But along with the eight percent increase, the city decided to transition to a monthly billing system for the whole city. Jeff Martone, the head of public works for the city, said that this will create a more regular billing system that will help residents stay on top of things.

Stephanie Tomlin, who runs the billing for the public works department, said that the city is still shutting off water in the midst of the pandemic, but none of the cut-offs were out of the ordinary or because of the switch to the monthly billing system.
