Rockbridge Area Habitat for Humanity hosted its fourth annual chili cook-off on Sunday. The nonprofit, which builds and repairs homes for low-income Rockbridge County residents, raised about $5,000 at the event. Executive Director Lynne Johnson said 93 percent of the nonprofit’s funds go directly to the construction of homes. The organization hopes to complete its 75th home by the end of 2019.
