Lexington’s historic buildings and brick sidewalks can be difficult to navigate for the elderly, parents with strollers and people with disabilities. Local residents recently voiced their concerns at a Valley Program for Aging Services meeting, where participants identified at least 20 places in the downtown area that pose possible hazards. But Lexington City Manager Noah Simon said it’s up to business owners to decide if they want to make their shops or restaurants more accessible.
