Lexington City leaders are still talking about last week’s tour of the Rockbridge Regional Jail, where a jail official showed them changes that have been made to the building and its operations since problems came to light in May. Back in May, two prisoners at the Rockbridge Regional Jail were badly beaten by other prisoners, sparking a state investigation of the jail. Jail officials and the commonwealth’s attorney are not allowed to comment on the investigation but are happy with the new medical department and “restorative programs” that the jail has now implemented.
