ROANOKE (AP) —A Roanoke mother has been charged with felony child neglect, police said, after officers found her and two other adults passed out in a car while the woman’s unrestrained infant daughter cried in a child safety seat.

Media outlets reported that officers called to a Roanoke parking lot on Sunday found an unconscious man and woman in the front seat of a car, and a baby and an unconscious woman who wasn’t breathing in the back. Police said heroin paraphernalia was also found in the car.

Rescue personnel revived 29-year-old April Maxwell with naloxone. Police said the uninjured infant was turned over to Child Protective Services.

Police charged 31-year-old Charles Breedlove and 39-year-old Stephanie Bush, the pair in the front seat, with being intoxicated in public. Maxwell is charged with felony child neglect.
