Three Election Day races in the Rockbridge area Tuesday featured candidates who ran unopposed or who did not face enough challengers to deny them an office.
In Buena Vista, Timothy Petrie ran unopposed for one seat on City Council.
The town of Goshen featured two races. Candidate Justin L. Thompson ran unopposed for Goshen mayor, while two candidates, D. Chris Robertson and Shirley W. Rorer, ran for town council when voters could elect up to three candidates on the ballot.
Voters also had the option to write in a candidate in all three races.
