As the holiday season approaches, local police say, robberies tend to increase. That’s because many families and nearly all college students leave the Rockbridge area for extended periods. Their absence offers thieves many opportunities. Lexington Police Sgt. Mark Riley says common sense is the best protection against break-ins.
