Former U.S. Congressman and three-time presidential candidate Ron Paul addressed a capacity crowd of more than 500 students in Washington and Lee University’s Lee Chapel Tuesday night. An overflow audience viewed the speech live in the school’s Stackhouse Theater. Paul’s comments covered foreign policy, the national debt and civil liberty, as well as the federal government’s influences on each.

He encouraged participation in the political arena, saying,  “Nothing changes unless the ideas change, and I think that’s happening in this country.” Contact Committee, a W&L student organization, scheduled and paid for Paul’s visit.
