The Maury Service Authority will share $200,000 in revenue with Lexington and Rockbridge County. The Authority wants the city and county to shore up sewer lines. This is an attempt to reduce the inflow and treatment of rain and ground water at the Authority’s recently upgrade sewer plant. Even with the upgrade, the plant is still sensitive to treating high levels of rainwater. Big surges of rain could cause poorly treated waste water to flow back into the Maury River.
