City Manager Jay Scudder is pushing Buena Vista to look into repairing the city’s old and leaky pipes. The city was originally supposed to use almost half a million dollars to put Hall Spring, a small water source, back on the city’s water line. But with looming repairs to the main water source, Scudder says the city doesn’t need Hall Spring. He proposed that the money be reallocated to detecting and fixing leaks, which already cause the city to lose about half its water. City council has yet to decide whether the money will go to Hall Spring or repairing the leaks, but the discussion will continue at the city council meeting Nov. 1.
