Local resident Susan Meister held her monthly Ruckus Day at Cabin Springs Farm on Saturday. Meister says she hosts the free public event to get people interested in the different uses of wool. Participants of all ages and skill levels gathered at Meister’s farmhouse near Effinger for an afternoon of learning and to practice weaving, spinning, and knitting. Meister said next month’s Ruckus Day will be combined with seasonal sheep shearing. She said she will be showing the entire process of turning wool into yarn, from shearing to spinning.
