Local residents appear to be cashing in their federal tax refunds on cars. Dealerships say they are seeing a rise in car sales for the first time in several years. Carl Higgins, owner of Super Wheels in Lexington, says he has sold about 40 cars in the past month and a half. He says this tax season has been the most profitable he has had in several years. Federal income tax returns are due April 17.
