Students and officials at local universities are trying to interpret and comply with a new set of state regulations on hazing. The policy identifies nearly two dozen prohibited activities, several of them traditionally identified with VMI’s famed “rat line” for first-years.
Virginia Military Institute is facing a reduction of more than $440,000 in state funding this fiscal year, which means that employees won’t get a 2 percent bonus.
