RARA and Ben Grigsby, a former trustee of Washington and Lee University, each offered to buy the Piovano Building to save the organizations housed on site.
The proposed development plan would displace two nonprofits that serve the poor in Rockbridge County. The Rockbridge Area Relief Association and the Community Table have been located on the property for several years.
