The Fairfield facility would be the largest in the county. Three similar facilities already exist. The BARC Electric Cooperative installed the first one in Kerrs Creek in 2016.
The Lexington middle school partnered with Secure Futures to install solar panels on its roof, which should reduce its electric bills and enhance its science curriculum.
