Public health officials, law enforcement and community organizations say shutdowns and limits on social gatherings during the coronavirus pandemic have led to increased drug overdoses among people who are struggling with loneliness and depression.
Rockbridge area law enforcement, local pharmacies and the Virginia Department of Health are encouraging county residents to use in-home lockboxes to store their prescriptions and to throw away their old medicine.
