The four candidates running for Lexington City Council, as well as Rep. Ben Cline and his opponent Jennifer Lewis, appeared at a candidates’ forum Oct. 25. The forum was hosted by the Lexington-Rockbridge Chamber of Commerce and focused on housing, economic development and other policy topics. One candidate said “a woman’s place is in the home.”
Republican Ben Cline is expected to win Virginia’s 6th district house race over Democrat Jennifer Lewis. Both candidates are campaigning on contentious issues, such as a lagging economy and concern over abortion rights.
Cline dominated in Rockbridge County and Buena Vista.
Jennifer Lewis wants to flip the 6th Congressional District blue and replace Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.).
