Browsing: freezing temperatures

It was colder in Chicago than Antarctica and Alaska, as sub-zero temperatures gripped the Midwest and Northeast.

An ice storm in November downed trees in parts of Shenandoah National Park. But workers had to put clean-up efforts on hold because of the federal government shutdown.

Extremely cold weather that hit the Midwest is expected to move into the region this evening and tomorrow. A wind chill advisory also has been issued for the area.
