Oak Grove Cemetery and Evergreen Cemetery will have available space for decades after Lexington City Council agreed to purchase portions of neighboring residents’ backyards.

Two council members want to see how the process of changing a street name would work before committing to a formal procedure.

The money is in addition to normal spending for cemetery maintenance. Some Lexington residents say the improvements to Evergreen Cemetery are long overdue.
