Left-leaning activists on Sunday protested the killing of 26-year-old environmental activist Manuel Esteban Paez Terán, or “Tortuguita,” who was shot to death by officers at a police training center near Atlanta in January.
The killings followed a mass shooting at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado, last week that left 10 dead. A week before that, six Asian women were among eight people killed at three Atlanta-area spas.
Hundreds of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders turned to social media to air their anger, sadness, fear and hopelessness after a tragic race based shooting in Atlanta.
The South was hit by another hurricane this morning. At least three people were killed in the storm and its remnants reached all the way into Virginia with heavy rain.
