The Keydet-General Motel has reopened in Lexington after six months of renovations under new ownership. Originally built in 1962, the motel was once a popular destination for visitors to the area before it closed in November. New owners Michael Meers and Madi Ford have restored the motel, which reopened late last month, incorporating 1960s memorabilia and prioritizing locally made products from Virginia businesses.
