Food insecurity affects more than 5,000 residents across Rockbridge County, Lexington and Buena Vista, according to Feeding America, a nationwide hunger relief organization. A local nonprofit is now working to bring food to those living in some of the area’s most remote regions. The organization provides free, restaurant-style meals in areas with limited access to fresh food, including new service in Fairfield and a potential expansion into Arnold’s Valley.
