For more than a decade, The Community Table has offered restaurant-style meals where people from across the Rockbridge community can sit down and eat together. But a sewage backup in the Rockbridge Area Relief Association building forced the dining room to close in late January. After initially being closed for three weeks, The Community Table has since been serving meals outside through curbside pickup while construction continues. Volunteers say the transition was easier because they used a similar curbside model during the COVID-19 pandemic.
