Attendance has climbed at free community dinners hosted by Rockbridge Connect and Nourish in six locations across Rockbridge County. Families say the meals help them stretch tight budgets during the holidays. Volunteers and organizers say the turnout illustrates the increasing need for food assistance and social connection. The nonprofit group partners with local caterers, volunteers and transportation services to help people get to the dinners each week.
