Rockbridge County voter turnout rises above state average

Voters in Rockbridge County beat the statewide average for turnout by 5.5%, according to the nonpartisan Virginia Public Access Project. Rockbridge is one of several rural counties that exceeded the statewide average of nearly 54%. Larger turnout among Democrats may be part of the reason why.
