Rockbridge County got a $4.4 million U.S. Department of Agriculture grant to install broadband service in rural parts of the county. The money will provide high-speed internet to about 800 homes and four businesses in the Collierstown and Effinger areas. This grant is on top of another grant awarded in July through the Virginia Telecommunications Act, which added internet service to more than 2,000 homes and businesses.
