Few Buena Vista residents knew Greenwood Cemetery existed because of overgrown trees and years of neglect. Preston Evans asked a few friends to help him clean up the cemetery. They formed the Friends of Greenwood Cemetery to raise awareness about the people buried there, almost all of whom have no grave marker.
