A Tru by Hilton and Residence Inn by Marriott are being built in Rockbridge County.
Combined they will add lots of new hotel rooms to an area already densely populated with
hotels. These rooms are good for visitors of Lexington’s colleges and the Virginia Horse Center
on busy weekends. However, national occupancy trends and county accommodation industry
trends indicate hotels in the area could struggle to fill rooms during less busy weeks.
