Three trade schools are under construction this fall in Buena Vista and Rockbridge County. Some locals are concerned that there will not be enough students to support a new nonprofit trade school, called The Rockbridge Creative Institute, alongside the growing vocational programs at Mountain Gateway Community College and Rockbridge County High School. But leaders of the schools say they are looking forward to collaborating with each other and training students to fill national skilled-worker shortages.
