The Lexington Fire Department is getting a new ladder truck this week. The new truck, originally purchased in October, can make sharp turns on Lexington’s narrow streets. The ladder also deploys faster. The new truck costs about $1.7 million and will be on Lexington’s streets later this month. Firefighters will first learn how to drive it and use its remote-operated features in a three-day training course. The new fire truck has been a department need for years, firefighters say.
