Local farmers adapt to unpredictable weather swings

Swings in weather in February and March have affected local blueberry and pear farmers.

Steve Donald, owner of Blueberry Hill at Still House, says his blueberries have started to bloom earlier than expected.

Thomas Vandiver, owner of Virginia Gold Orchard, has had a similar experience with his Asian pears. Both do not know if the cold weather has damaged the fruit.
