Local restaurants prepare for national chains to move in

Local businesses are bracing for competition from three fastfood chains that are on their way to Rockbridge County.

Starbucks, Dunkin’ and ChickfilA are expected to open by the end of the year.

The three businesses will be located on Lee Highway, two of them just off the I81 and I64 interchanges. A local official says Starbucks will move into an old bank building in the College Square shopping center.
