Rockbridge County Public Schools pay food service workers $13 an hour, one dollar higher than the state’s required minimum wage. However, some employees believe this isn’t enough to help the short–staffed school division attract new employees to meet increased demands in the cafeteria. A survey of other school divisions shows Rockbridge County as one of the lowest-paying in the region.
