Side effects of the Covid19 pandemic, such as vaccine mandates, seem to have exacerbated the challenges to Virginia’s workforce. The state’s various industries are facing severe labor shortages and Lexington is no exception.
Local businesses as well as municipal services are trying to attract workers and keep operating normally despite being short-staffed. One of the most affected areas has been the food service industry.
