The Paxton House was built in Buena Vista in 1831. Two decades ago, it had caving ceilings, falling walls and peeling wallpaper. Today, it is a beautiful recreation of pre-Civil War life and a space for the community to hold events. In the midst of the pandemic, the doors are not yet open to the public. But board members Peggy Goodsell and Lori Wood say they hope to see it in use soon.
