The Rockbridge Area Relief Association is giving low-income seniors access to nutritional food through its Senior Food Boxes program. The association started the program last September by partnering with the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. The program provides food boxes with items like peanut butter, pear slices and oatmeal to 100 seniors each month. Ten seniors are on the program’s wait list. But there is room for 40 more people on the list. RARA Programs Manager Lindsey Pérez said that seniors on the wait list may still be able to receive boxes.
