Lexington businesses (mostly) love Valentine’s Day

Lexington businesses start preparing for Valentine’s Day during the last week of January. The businesses order extra supplies and sometimes stay open later hours to prepare for the rush of customers purchasing last-minute gifts. Businesses like the Cocoa Mill Chocolate Company and University Florist said they make an average of $25,000 on the holiday. But they need to hire more staff for the holiday, which lowers the businesses’ profits.
