Virginia voters approved two constitutional amendments dealing with tax exemptions.
One of the amendments would give a tax exemption for property that is subject to recurrent flooding, if improvements have been made on the property. The other would provide surviving spouses of veterans who had a one hundred percent service-connected, permanent, and total disability to move to a different primary residence and still claim an exemption.
The General Assembly would allow, but not force, localities to give the tax exemptions.
