Rockbridge County High School went into a lockdown Thursday morning after a report of a weapon. Deputies from the county sheriff’s department investigated the threat and found no weapon.
In a statement on the school’s Facebook page, superintendent Phillip Thompson said that someone overheard a student conversation about a gun on campus and that triggered the lockdown. Thompson also encouraged students, staff and parents to continue to come forward if they hear anything suspicious in the future.
Classes resumed later Thursday morning.
