LEXINGTON – Governor Ralph Northam (D-VA) visited Lexington on Monday in recognition of the businesses that recently opened downtown.
Northam celebrated the businesses boosted by Lexington’s downtown business association, Main Street Lex, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of “The Hub” on South Main street.
The Hub is home to three new businesses: fLEX Fitness, Red Newt Bicycle Shop and Just Games.
After cutting the ribbon, Northam signed pieces of it for the different local business owners. The owners, alongside mayor Frank Friedman and some members of the city council, were in the crowd to greet Northam.
Several other businesses opened this year in downtown Lexington as well.
