BV locals could pay more cash for trash

Buena Vista residents and businesses will now have to pay an extra $60,000 per year to use the newly expanded landfill in their city. During a public hearing last Monday, a Blue Ridge Resource Authority advisory board approved a 25 percent increase in fees per ton of trash. It also approved a 25 percent increase in fees for special items like televisions and tires.
