Bernice King, daughter of the late Martin Luther King Jr., spoke to a packed auditorium at Washington and Lee University last Sunday, urging the audience to confront America’s history of racism and take action to end it. Her keynote address, which concluded Washington and Lee University’s 10-day celebration of her father, harkened back to her father’s philosophy of nonviolence. King encouraged the community to work on policies and relationships for the betterment of all people.
