Be a Santa to a Senior is similar to Angel Tree, as it asks volunteers to buy items off of a senior’s wish list. While some seniors have physical or cognitive disabilities, others are just lonely. This year, volunteers purchased gifts for all 160 seniors who filled out wish lists in Lexington, Buena Vista and Rockbridge County. The program’s success can be partially attributed to the ease of signing up. Interested individuals signed up for a senior online.
