Lexington police are still looking for the man they say committed armed robbery Monday at the Hampton Inn Col Alto on E. Nelson Street.
The Lexington Police Department issued a press release which says, “During the police investigation, it was determined that a single male suspect entered the business, brandished a weapon and assaulted a staff member.”
Lexington Police Chief Sam Roman acknowledges that the only information excluded from the press release is the exact amount of money stolen and the type of weapon used.
“Just because of investigative purposes, we have to withhold those two until we are able to exhaust the few leads that we have,” Roman said.
The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie with a long sleeved red t-shirt protruding from under the hoodie’s sleeves. He also wore white athletic shoes, jeans, dark colored gloves and stocking-like cover over his face.
Hampton Inn Manager George Moore declined to comment.
The incident is still under investigation by the Lexington Police Department.
