Lexington Police Chief Sam Roman recognizes Second Amendment rights but also wants to put safety first when it comes to firearms. Several local gun owners carry concealed fire arms for their own personal safety. They say background checks can be effective in minimizing gun violence but they argue it comes down to the person operating the weapon, not the gun itself.
