This year local Democratic leaders are having trouble campaigning in the heavily Republican county. The chair of the Rockbridge County Democratic Committee, frustrated by what he felt was little backing from the state party, resigned last week but agreed to stay on after he was given promises of more support. With these promises, local Democrats are now focusing on scraping together as many votes as they can.
