The Virginia Legislature has sent a budget to Gov. McAuliffe that includes a 2 percent pay raise for sheriff’s deputies and a 3 percent pay hike for state troopers. The starting salary for a Sheriff’s Deputy in Rockbridge County will be about $31,600 if McAuliffe accepts the budget.
